Why Equine Therapy?

Talk therapy has it’s benefits, but it also has some serious limitations.

We can’t think our way out of trauma. And we can’t think our way out of the patterns that keep us stuck and hold us back.

We need an approach that involves our body, and that teaches our nervous system how to regulate in a relational way.

That’s where equine therapy comes in.

No riding. No horse experience required.

Passionate about serving those who serve others.

Meet Your Therapist

Lee Merkley (they/them)
Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

Above all, I seek to empower clients through safety and connection.

I am a trans, non-binary, neuro-divergent human, with 8+ years in recovery from addiction.

My lived experience informs my ability to show up with clients in a wholistic, human first kind of way.

When showing up for clients, I combine my experience working with thousands of horses, post traumatic growth, and a determination to make a difference in this fractured world.
