UNDERESTIMATED - Women’s Self-Defence Workshop

Women's Self-Defence Workshop

FOR: Women ages 16+
WHEN: May 2nd, 2026 | 2–4pm EST
WHERE: Synergy Movement Studio
171 Hutcheson Beach Rd, Unit 1, Huntsville, ON
COST: $45 (tax included) · Limited registration

Most of us have been taught — directly or indirectly — to make ourselves smaller. To not cause a scene. To hope for the best.

This workshop is about something different.

Underestimated is a two-hour, trauma-informed self-defence workshop built for women who want to feel safer, walk taller, and trust themselves more — in every area of life. No experience required. No particular fitness level required. Just a willingness to show up.

In two hours together, you'll:

  • Build situational awareness skills you'll carry with you everywhere

  • Learn to recognize and trust your own instincts — and understand why they're worth listening to

  • Practise real physical techniques for survival situations — what actually works, and what doesn't

  • Leave with something you can't unknow: the knowledge that you are more capable than you've been led to believe

Our approach is trauma-informed and consent-based at every step. Your well-being is not an afterthought here — it's the foundation.

When we stop underestimating what we're capable of, and embody the knowledge that we can fight our way to survival if necessary, we're able to walk taller and stronger in every area of life.

About Your Instructor

Carmen Theobald is a Trauma-Informed Certified Self-Defence Instructor backed by internationally recognized instructor Nick Drossos of Nick Drossos Defensive Tactics — whose work has trained law enforcement officers worldwide.

Carmen's relationship with self-defence began in her youth, through four years of intensive training that never fully left her. Even during the seventeen years she and her instructor lost touch, the awareness she'd built showed up every single day. When they reconnected in 2021, the next chapter became clear: it was time to teach.

Carmen brings to self-defence the same belief she carries into all her work — that feeling empowered, whole, and free is not earned. It's reclaimed. And the knowledge that you can protect your own life is one of the most profound ways to reclaim it.
